I have been using Timex Ironman watches for more than 20 years. I love them and never wear anything else.I bought this one for two reasons:

• The display is big and easier to read during workouts than some of my other watches;
• I like new gadgets.

I took the watch for my first swim workout and during a 2,000 yard swim, the stopwatch randomly recorded a split 87 times. Sometimes, it would record a split every 5-10 seconds, for no reason. I attribute this to either the tap screen being defective or there is a small leak in the watch, which will eventually destroy the watch.

Otherwise, the watch is just about like every other Ironman watch, though I really do like the large display and the tap-screen function is kind of cool and allows for mindless split recording in the middle of a workout or a race.

I have contacted the seller for a replacement and will post an update when I get a new one.

I’ve had various incarnations of the Timex Ironman watches over the years. They take a beating and have great functionality. To me, this model has about the best practical value overall, being rather feature-laden without being overcomplicated. One distinct value of this watch over the “sleek” and similar models, is that it does NOT have an integrated band. Sure, integrated bands look cool, but if you wear the watch daily the band will start to break down after about a year and then you have to send it back to Timex for a new band. Not so with this watch. New users will have to take a little time to figure out the various functions of the watch, but once you get the idea, operation is very logical. The stopwatch is great for training, having more laps at your disposal than you’re ever likely to need, multiple timers and alarms, and two time zones. These are also useful for training, but also just useful in general life (moreso than you’d think). In all, a solid choice for a digital sports watch, and an excellent value considering Amazon’s prices. Highly recommended.

I’ve seen this watch in stores for $65. Bought it using my Amazon Prime for $43, free shipping, got it 2 days later. Its a great watch, especially the Flix system. It took me a short time to figure out the right way to flick my wrist to activate the light, but once I got it, it worked every single time. Besides the great features, its a good-looking watch also.

Looking for watch strap, it is easy to find where it is sold, but it is not easy to consider which one is suit for us. Here some questions for you in choosing the right one.

What strap will suit you?

Activities: Ask yourself, are you an active/sporty person, sweat a lot, need a flexible and tough watch band or do you need a watch which will complement your outfit?

How you use your swatch watch will determine what type of watch strap you should buy. Do not just buy straps based on the design and color but consider what, when and how you use your watch will be a crucial point in making that choice.

What strap suit your watch?

This sounds like a silly question but it’s really very important that your sporty watch don’t get match with an elegant strap while your loud, color Swatch gets paired with a plain old leather strap.

Shall I buy the same strap I had been wearing before?

Yes, should you? You may go for this option almost immediately because it just seems right and logical to buy back the original strap (if you can find them) as it suits your watch well. The Timex watch has been a staple wrist watch here in the United States since 1950; in fact, although Timex watches are marketed worldwide its greatest market base is in the United States and Canada.
